It seemed to occur randomly, every so often. I was able to return it to the store and get a replacement camera. However, the same problem has occurred with my second 5D Mark III. Given that the same problem has occurred with two separate bodies I am assuming it is something inherent in the 5D Mark III. Otherwise, I am trilled with the camera.

Message. Solution. Err 01. Communications between the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the lens contacts. -Clean the electrical contacts on the camera and lens. -Use a Canon lens. -If the instructions above do not solve the problem, please contact your nearest Canon Service Center. (*1)
1. @Balls: Just got the Zeikos grip for the T2i. It's actually more sturdy than the Canon grip (which I tried on a friend's T2i), but the button action isn't as nice as the Canon grip. All in all I'm very happy with the purchase, thanks for the advice. Dec 3, 2010 at 1:15.

As batteries age there recharge performance goes down. Also battery life takes a hit too. It could also be a defective LC-E6 battery charger. -Demetrius.
