Convertible top will not close even manually. I have an 01 325CI and the top stuck going down near the end of the process. I have used the manual process behind the rear seat to try to put the top back up but the roof stops 6-8 inches from the windshield but will not go any farther, even using the hex key in the front.
Check your trunk. If you have the bluetooth module, it will be a black box, about half the length of a VHS and visible against the wall seperating the trunk from the inside of the car. There are charging points under the bonnet, you could attach a charger or jump leads from another vehicle which should provide enough power to open the boot. Z4 passenger door won't unlock. When I unlock with fob, or interior button, the passenger door unlocks but won't open. The little lock knob pops up/down fine, but pulling on the interior or exterior handle does not engage the mechanism that opens the latch. Usually you can pull on the handle several times and it finally works.

Yes there is a way to close manually in case of emergeny. Under the back seat there is a red lever which you pull. This dislodges the motors allowing you to manually work the roof. BE WARNED THOUGH doing this causes a lot of problems after with the resetting of the gears/clutches.
