Check your trunk. If you have the bluetooth module, it will be a black box, about half the length of a VHS and visible against the wall seperating the trunk from the inside of the car. The wire usually leads from the center console into the trunk and on some occassions, the module can be hidden under the mat you have to take out when accessing
Connect another battery source ( charger or jump leads ) to the points under bonnet to gain power . There are charging points under the bonnet, you could attach a charger or jump leads from another vehicle which should provide enough power to open the boot. There are battery charging points under the bonnet.

Z4 passenger door won't unlock. When I unlock with fob, or interior button, the passenger door unlocks but won't open. The little lock knob pops up/down fine, but pulling on the interior or exterior handle does not engage the mechanism that opens the latch. Usually you can pull on the handle several times and it finally works.

Yes there is a way to close manually in case of emergeny. Under the back seat there is a red lever which you pull. This dislodges the motors allowing you to manually work the roof. BE WARNED THOUGH doing this causes a lot of problems after with the resetting of the gears/clutches.

Of course, if you have a typical aquatic Z4 hydraulic motor, your bypass switch may be corroded. I couldnt get my roof to bypass until I took the motor out and cleaned up and re-greased the button (this was a by-product of repairing the entire pump), all ok now.
