2012 Santa Fe 2.2 Diesel ecu issue. Hi folks, I have just purchased a non running 2012 Santa Fe 2.2 diesel. I have plugged my Snap on scanner in to the obd port but it will only connect with the abs, air bag and body control module systems. It will not recognise or connect to the engine ecu. Finally took the New Santa Fe Highlander for a drive. Real World Fuel Consumption with 4x4 Lock. - Freeway test was 20 mins on the freeway. - City test was 30 mins driving 40 – 60km/h. I reset the trip meter at the start of the freeway trial AND at the start of the city drive. City 40 – 60 km/h: Average 9.8 – 11 L/100km.

Hyundai offers new two engines for the 2010 Santa Fe: a 2.4-liter four-cylinder or a 3.5-liter V6. The four-cylinder is standard on the GLS and Limited models, while the V6 is standard on the SE.
Gone is the old 2.2 litre CRDi diesel and V6 petrol engine, both replaced with the same R-series 2.2 litre diesel that powers the Santa Fe’s corporate cousin, the 2010 Kia Sorento.

Engine braking is quite poor, the Santa Fe’s relatively low-compression (for a diesel) and free-revving nature working against it for when you need engine braking. The standard engine in the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe range is a 200kW 3.5-litre petrol V6 that drives the front wheels, but our test car was fitted with the optional 2.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 148kW of power (at 3,800rpm) and 440Nm of torque (between 1,750rpm and 2,750rpm).
